Day 1: Santiago - Bienvenidos a Republica Dominicana! Today you will arrive in Santiago de los Cabelleros and will be transferred to Jarabacoa. Here we will do introductions and icebreakers. We will participate in an exchange with UAFAM university and Cluster Turistico de Jarabacoa to learn about the creation of eco-tourism clusters and economic development in the region and country. The day will end with a recap and reflection activity.

Day 2: Jarabacoa- River Restoration and Baiguate Waterfall: Today we will do a tour and chat with the School of Forestry and will engage in an ecological restoration activity by the Yaque del Norte River. We will do a leadership workshop and also learn how tree plantings help to replenish the river water. This includes lunch and swim in the Baiguate Waterfall and then you get free time in the center of Jarabacoa. The day will end with a recap and reflection activity.

Day 3-Jarabacoa- Agroforestry educational exchange with local farmers. Learn about sustainable agricultural production via a chat and tour with the farmers and then we will engage in a hands on field project on a local farm including lunch. This will be your last day in Jarabacoa. The day will end with a recap and reflection activity.

Day 4: Santiago- Urban Sustainability Logic Study. We will do a tour and Chat with CILPEN Global Recycling to see the recycling process up close and learn about how they have made their operations more sustainable via certifications and plant upgrades. Next, we will do a tour and chat with the Santiago Botanical Garden to learn about how they are conserving native plant species in El Cibao (The Northern Coast). This exchange will include a lunch at the botanical garden. Lastly, we will engage in an educational exchange with urban sustainability and resiliency experts who will cover topics such as tropical storms, energy, and displaced communities. Using the city of Santiago we will do a logic study to explore leadership and themes. The day will end with a recap and reflection activity.

Day 5: Puerto Plata- We will do a portion of the 27 Waterfalls of Damajagua and explore the city center of Puerto Plata. The day will end with a recap and reflection activity.
Lodging: Villa
Day 6: Sosua- Mangrove and Coral Restoration. Travel to Sosua for educational exchange and hands on project with Fundacion Ecologica Magua on mangrove and coral restoration including lunch. The day will end with a recap and reflection activity. Beach time after service, dinner in Sosua.
Lodging: Piergiorgio Hotel, Sosúa
Day 7: Santo Domingo- Today we will transfer to Santo Domingo, Where we will engage in a few last sessions and graduate the cohort. We will end with a very special dinner at El Conuco Restaurant in the Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo.

Day 8- Santo Domingo- Buen Viaje! You have the option to explore the Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo or Visit Three Eyes National Park within the city which is a nature reserve and open-air limestone cave system with a series of crystal clear lakes known as the “eyes".
