This semi-guided tour will combine dance with ecotourism. About 10-15 people will travel to Santo Domingo to take classes with Muevete Dance Studio and participate in eco-tourism activities in the surrounding areas including Monte Plata. Participants will participate in eco-tours including hiking forests, waterfalls, and beaches, among others. This is a culturally immersive and resort-free travel experience. We will follow COVID-19 guidelines in the US and Dominican Republic.

Friday, Day 1- Colonial Zone and Tres Ojos
Check in at El Mosquito Boutique Hotel. Explore the highlights of the Dominican Colonial Zone and Tres Ojos National Park. In the evening, we will go to a dance class and social dancing at Muevete Dance studio.
Saturday, Day 2- Boca Chica beach
Day trip to Boca Chica beach and enjoy typical drinks and Dominican Fried fish with tostones, batata, and other traditional dishes. Boca Chica Beach delicate and white sand, as well as clear and calm water. If you love water sports, you should have a go at waterskiing, kayaking, banana boat rides, or try the paddle boats. In the evening, we will head back to Santo Domingo for dinner and go to a dance class and social dancing at Muevete Dance studio.
Sunday, Day 3- Loma de Managua Hiking, Chepa Cave, and Taino Ceramic Workshop
Hotel check out and drive to Monte Plata. We Participate in a 2-hour hike with views of Bayaguana, mountains of National Park los Haitises, the Yamasa Sierra, and the Central Mountain Range. Then we will hike to the Chepa Cave. We head off to lunch in the town of Yamasa and participate in a Taino Ceramic workshop.. We will end the day with an overnight stay at an eco-camping facility Campo Aventura Comatillo
Monday, Day 4- Waterfall Tour- Salto de Socoa, Salto Alto, Balneario Rio Comate
We will visit Salto de Socoa, a stunning single waterfall that empties into a circular jade pool and is framed with vegetation and rocks. After visiting Salto Socoa in the morning, we will drive back towards the small, colorful town of Bayaguana for a Dominican lunch break at a typical comedor. Approximately 30 minutes’ drive northeast from Bayaguana town, the most impressive and farthest of the waterfalls in Monte Plata, Salto Alto’s three cascades tumble down together from approximately 75-feet into a gigantic, wide-open pool below. Then we head off to balneario Comate which is set along the Comate River, tributary to the Ozama River. There are thatch huts for sitting areas, and below, a shallow river where locals relax along the banks, tube in the river, or simply sit atop the small rocks as mini falls tumble down.. In the evening, we head back to Santo Domingo for dinner and dancing with Muevete Dance Studio taxi dancers.
Tuesday, Day 5- Coffee Tour
Hotel Check out in the morning and participate in a coffee tour with lunch included before heading back to the airport.
